THALASSA (=Sea) or TETHYS

She was the daughter of Hemera (=Day) and Aether and was also called Pelagos. She was honoured as the goddess of navigation, and people used to sacrifice to her before they put to Sea. Orpheas wrote the 21st hymn for her where he calls her Tethys as well.
