What is HEC 
HEC is a non-profit NGO organization incorporated in the state of Delaware in 1995. The goals of HEC are, to give free internet services to non-profit Hellenic Organizations, to create a Hellenic Network, to house various projects and/or create HEC projects.

Several Organizations have joined HEC as associated members and they co-operate very closely with HEC to promote Hellenic History and Culture. The HEC network has 35,000 members divided into 120 different forums (lists). This network includes many professionals and those of both high education and the highest education level. Finally, the HEC projects have developed into educational instruments for the general public.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
HEC organizes, houses and distributes information regarding all aspects of the Hellenic (Greek) civilization around the world through electronic communications networks, and particularly through the Internet. In particular, the purpose of HEC is to actively support projects promoting the Hellenic civilization throughout the Internet; to compile archives of sources and indices to sources available on the Internet and pertinent to the Hellenic civilization; to regularly collect all freely available technical material related to Greek computing such as software, technical documents, and standards, as well as assist in the development of such material; to organize and provide technical support and computer services to organizations associated with Greece; to serve as a communication center for the Greek Diaspora in the United States and elsewhere; to serve as a universal electronic gateway to Greece; to educate and expose the Greek society, including the Greek Diaspora of the United States, to the new culture and technology of Internet, and related networks and technology.

ORGANIZATION STATUS.
HEC is a non- profit organization registered in the United States of America. HEC is not be involved with partisan issues or political lobbying in any country. Funding of HEC is described in these By-Laws.
