Health and healing ministry

Mission committee.
We can mention this ministr without mentioning the Blood
Drive
MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT THABO MBEKI TO THE GREEK
COMMUNITY
It is both a privilege and a pleasure to offer a
sincere word of greeting and commendation to the South African Greek
community on the occasion of the 12th promotional blood drive hosted by the
New Pan Hellenic Voice. The Greek community has shown resourceful commitment
to the South African democracy in many effective ways, and they have been
exemplary in meeting their obligations as citizens of a free country. The
success of this blood clinic is but one of the manifestations of the way
this community - working with bodies such as the South African National
Blood Service as well as community radio in Greece - has gone the second
mile in seeking to bring happiness and relief to others. It is propitious
that this event should take place as none other than the President of Greece
undertakes a State Visit to our country as our guest- it will no doubt be a
cause of pride and gratification to His Excellency - as indeed it is to all
South Africans - to note Greek-backed achievements notched up in this area
of enormous and growing public need. South Africans salute that remarkable
and historic country, Greece, a staunch partner in so many causes pursued by
our own country. We also salute the combined efforts of the people of the
Hellenic republic to make our world a better place for all against the
ravages of illness, tragedy and want.
