FrontPage 2000 and ListServ Classes to begin in February 2000

Responding to many requests from our HEC friends to start teaching the use of software as soon as possible, we have decided to begin with two classes on FrontPage 2000 and ListServ Administration.

In February 2000 we are to begin a series of lessons dealing with how a totally inexperienced person can learn to use Microsoft FrontPage 2000. Because this course is an experimental course, the lessons will last for 6 to 8 weeks depending on the interest of the students and the amount of material we can handle in that period. If we find out that there is a strong interest and we need additional time we will reschedule the class so we can cover all the material needed, or we will even set up a second and more advanced session FP-102 which will follow after FP-101 is concluded.

We will start with the very basics of how we can make and post a web page on a server using FrontPage 2000 and explain some other software tools which are necessary for our work and for doing graphics. The use of software such as Microsoft PhotoDraw, Paintshop 5, Microsoft Image Composer, FTP tools, and some HTML language will be explained.

The Lessons are based on  FrontPage 2000.  There are no big differences between the 2000 and version FP98. If you have any questions please let us know and we will point out some of the differences for those who do have the FP98 version as we go along. The prerequisites for enrolling to The HEC University are:

1. You must be a member of one of our Associate Hellenic Organizations (AHEPA, AHI e.g..),

2. Must send an e-mail requesting to be registered for the lessons. Sent the e-mail to Learn-FP@hec.greece.org

3. Request an ID and Password at least a week before the starting date, and discuss software needed and other administrative details, in order to upload your work on our server.

3. You must decide that you will dedicate at least one hour per day to study the material and do your homework.

4. You must have Microsoft software FP98 or FP2000

There is no registration FEE for the FrontPage 2000 course. However HEC reserves the option to charge students a fee for any other classes in the future.

There will be no grading of your work, but you must show us that you are doing your home work by uploading it at least once each week and before the beginning of the next lesson. We need to evaluate your progress and adjust the speed with which the class is to proceed.

The list below shows the lessons for the week . In the weeks that follow we will post any recent additions to our website. Whenever we publish a paper, write a specification, submit a status report, or add anything else to our web, we'll put a notice here. Every few weeks we'll remove the oldest items and place them in the archives. The listings below are linked to the corresponding pages so you can find them easily.
