Τῆς δὲ Κορινθίας ἐστὶ γῆς καὶ ὁ καλούμενος Κρομυών τοῦ Κρόμου τοῦ Ποσειδῶνος ἐνταῦθα τραφῆναί φασι , καὶ τῶν λεγομένων Θησέως καὶ τὸ ἐς τὴν ὗν ταύτην ἐστὶν ἔργον.
Στήν δέ Κορινθιακή χώρα ανήκει καί ο Κρομυώνας (1),·έτσι καλούμενος από τόν γυιό τού Ποσειδώνος (2)·Κρόμο. Εδώ λέγουν ότι ζούσε η Φαιά·(3), καί κατά τά λεγόμενα είναι τό αγριογούρουνο πού σκότωσε σ' έναν άθλο του ο Θησέας (4).

1.-Κρομμυών: κώμη τής Μεγαρίδος, όπου υπήρχε ένα φρούριο (Καστρότειχον) και αργοτερα·κώμη της Κορίνθου. Τόπος όπου καλλιεργούνται κρόμμυα (κρεμμύδια).·
2.-·Ο γυιός τού Ποσειδώνος Κρόμος (Κρώμος) επινοήθηκε ως επώνυμος ήρωας τού Κρομμυώνα.·
3.- Επίσης γνωστή καί ως κρομμυωνία ύς. Κατά τήν παράδοση ήταν μητέρα τού καλυδωνίου κάπρου.·
4.-Ένας από τούς περιφήμους βασιλείς καί ήρωες τής αρχαίας εποχής τών Ελλήνων. Γυιός τού βασιλέως τής Αττικής Αιγέως καί τής κόρης τού ηγεμόνος τής Τροιζηνίας Αίθρας, υπήρξε ήρως τών Αθηναίων ·καί ιδρυτής τής πολιτείας αυτών, συνέστησε δέ τήν περίφημη εορτή τών Παναθηναίων. Ερχόμενος Από Τροιζήνα πρός Αθήνα, θανάτωσε καθ' οδόν τόν φοβερό ληστή Προκρούστη, Σίνι, Π εριφήτη καί τόν κακούργο Κερ κυόνα. Μεταξύ πολλών άθλων, σκότωσε τόν Μαραθώνιο ταύρο, καθώς καί τόν τρομερό Μινώταυρο·μέσα στόν Λαβύρινθο. Δολοφονήθηκε στήν Σκύρο υπό τού Λυκομήδη. Επί τών χρόνων τού Κίμωνος, τό 467 π.Χ., κατ’ επιταγήν τού Μαντείου, οι Αθηναίοι έφεραν τά οστά του στήν πόλη τών Αθηνών καί τά ενταφίασαν στό μέχρι σήμερα σωζόμενο Θησείον, τό οποίο ήταν καταφύγιο τών καταπιεζομένων δούλων
To the land of Corinthos belongs Crommyon(1), which was named after Cromus, the son of Poseidon(2). Here they say lived Phea (3), which according to tradition is the wild boar that was killed by Theseus(4) in one of his feats.
1.- Crommyon: town belonging to Megara, where existed a fort (fortified walls) and later became a town under Corinth. A place where onions were cultivated.
2.- The son of Poseidon, Kromos was considered as the hero of Crommyon.
3.- Also known as the Crommyonian sow. According to tradition she was the mother of the Kalydonian wild boar.
4.- One of the famous kings and heroes of the ancient Greek era. Son of king Aigeas of Attica and Aithra, daughter of the ruler of Troizina, was the hero of the Athenians, the founder of their city and the one who began the Pan-Athenian celebrations. While traveling from Troizinae to Athens, he killed the horrific thief Procroustis, Sini, Periphitis and the criminal Kerkyonas. Among other feats he killed the bull of Marathon, as also did fearsome Minotaur in the Labyrinth. He was assacinated on the island of Skyros, by Lykomides. During the leadership years of Kimon, 467 B.C., under the direction of the oracle, the Athenians transfered his remains to the city of Athens, and interned them in the Thesion, which was the sunctuary of the oppressed slaves.
