Curriculum Vitae
Vice -Admiral, (r) Dr. Stylianos Politis H.N. was born in Athens, Greece. He studied in the Hellenic Naval Academy and attended the Naval War College, the National Defence College and other military schools. He also graduated from the Public Law and Political Sciences Faculty of the Law School of Athens University. He did a doctoral thesis on the legal regime of the land-locked states and obtained his doctorate by the Faculty of Bilateral Relations International Law of Panteion University, Athens.
He was appointed to the Fleet for fourteen years and served as Division Commander, Commander of various ships, First Mate, Operation, Communication and Electronic Warfare officer. He was also appointed to the General Staff as a Director and Head of various Divisions, as well as to the National Intelligence Service, Operation Branch. He has been honoured with various medals and distinctions.
He lectured for four years in the Universities of the Aegean and Pireaus (undergraduate and postgraduate degrees). For several years he has been lecturing at the Naval Academy, the Naval War College and the National Defence College. He has been a scientific collaborator of the Hellenic Institute of International and Foreign Law since May 2000. He has published many articles in Greek and international revues.
He is a licensed pilot. He is married and has two children.
