My Dear Governor,
The Proclamation by the State of New York
recognising the Hellenes victims of the Turkish Genocide in
1922, is a noble act of courage.
In moments where truth and justice are being
supressed by tyranical regimes else where in the world; you
take a determined stance to pass a resolution that reminds the
rest of New Yorkers and Americans, that the US should not and
will not forget mistakes of the past.
All of my Grandparents were refugees from
Asia Minor, a place where Greek civilization flourished and
progressed. Yet, after 1922, all Turkish Governments have done
their outmost to eradicate anything and everything that reminds
to the visitor the 2000 year old Greek presence.
Let us hope that other States will follow
your example.
God Bless You and The State Of New York
A Hellene From London, UK
