The Hellenic Maritime Museum has the greatest naval library in Greece, with more than 10,000 volumes of books and periodicals. Its main themes are Naval History and development of the Merchant and War Navy through the centuries, naval science and art, as well as naval literature. There are also photographic archives with thousands of photographs classified by theme.

The Maritime Museum of Greece also houses a big collection of Greek and international maps from the 16th to the 19th century.
