Lethal Nationalism: Genocide of the Greeks 1913-1923 - Video

"Στον Πόντο αν βρεθείς
ποτέ μη λησμονήσεις.
Το νερό του είναι απ’ το αίμα σου,
το χώμα απ’ το κορμί σου,
και ο αέρας που φυσά
απ’ την αναπνοή σου."
[Γ.Αγγελακόπουλος]
"If you find yourself in Pontos, never forget. Its water is from your blood, the soil from your body, and the wind that blows from your breath. "

The Quotes page, is a collection of quotes from historical documents and photos aiming to allow the reader to better understand how cruel and systematic were the actions of the Turkish government to exterminate the Hellenes (and Armenians and Assyrians) all the Christians in general, and also how and why certain governments acted to SUPPORT those crimes.

The Hellenic genocide (Greek: Γενοκτονία των Ελλήνων, Genoktonia ton Ellinon), including the Pontic genocide, was the systematic killing of the Christian Ottoman Greek population of Anatolia which was carried out during World War I and its aftermath (1914–1922) on the basis of their religion and ethnicity. It was instigated by the government of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish national movement against the indigenous Greek population of the Empire and included massacres, forced conversion to Islam, forced deportations involving death marches[where?], expulsions, summary execution, and the destruction of Eastern Orthodox cultural, historical, and religious monuments. Several hiundred thousands greeks lost their lives.
